5 Tips to get organised for the Summer Holidays

Keeping sane during the summer holidays with the kids at home is challenging.  However, in this blog post am sharing 5 tips to get you organised for the summer holidays.

1. Have a schedule / a plan

Whether you are a stay at home mum or a work outside home mum, it is important to have some form of schedule / plan to keep your kids entertained during the summer holidays.  It is more important if your children would not be attending summer school.

It does not have to be complicated.  Keep it simple.  Planning day activities is a simple way to do it.

2. SET UP A SNACK STATION

If you don’t have a snack station, that it’s time to set up one.  Kids are constantly snacking, so make sure to have a designated space in the kitchen where they can grab snacks themselves.  Also make sure to have snacks in the fridges and stock up on ice creams.

3. MAKE SURE THE KIDS BEDROOMS ARE ORGANISED

The kids will be spending lots of time at home and if their rooms are organised it would be easier for them to find their things without your assistance.

4. GATHER ALL YOUR BEACH STUFF TOGETHER

It’s beach season, so make sure that all your beach accessories have been checked, decluttered and organised.  Make sure that your beach bag is always packed with all the necessary items, so it’s just a matter of grab and go. If you would like to know how I organise my beach bag checkout my YouTube video.

5. GET YOUR OUTSIDE ORGANISED

If you are blessed with an outside space that allows your kids to spend sometime outside or even allows you to entertain, then make sure it is organised and stocked up with all the necessary supplies.

Dedicate an area for all your outside toys.  You don’t want wet toys to go inside and make a mess.

If you have a BBQ area, then allocate a space to store your cutlery, plates, garbage bags and such.  It will make your live easier and would allow you to enjoy every moment with your family and friends.

Allow yourself to enjoy your time with family and friends during summer.  Whatever you can prepare in advance, just prepare.
