Halloween Activities in 2020

2020 is the worst year ever, but let’s be positive and make the best of it.  Halloween is not going to be the same, as no trick or treating is happening this year, but it does not mean that you cannot enjoy some fun activities with your kids.

Here are some ideas that you can do with the kids:

1. Decorate the House

This year have more fun in decorating the house for Halloween.  Do that extra effort.  Decorate the outside of your home, even if no one will be doing trick or treat this year.  Use some of the crafts you children make for Halloween.

2. Play some Board Games

Back in March, many stocked up on board games which most likely have been put aside during the summer months.  Well now is the time to take those board games out again and enjoy some fun times.

3. Make some gross snacks

You can find many Halloween theme snack ideas online.  Why don’t you try this Mummy’s Brie that you can enjoy with your family whilst playing some board games.  It is super easy to make…just some puff pastry and brie and you have spooky appetizer.

4. Watch Scary / Halloween Movies

Don’t worry, we don’t want kids to stay up all night because they watched a scary movie.  Here are a few movies that you can watch with your kids

The Addams Family (2019)

This is the perfect movie because it looks macabre, like the old cartoons but most of the elements are played for laughs.  At the end there is a not-so-scary message which is that of acceptance.

The BoxTrolls (2014)

Some trolls find an abandoned baby boy and raise him as their own.  The real monsters in the movie are the gentlemen in the society above the trolls.  The boy learns about this, only when he tries to live among the humans again.

Coraline (2009)

Definitely one of my favorites.  Coraline’s family moves town, but are too busy to spend time with her.  She discovers a secret door in the new house and finds an alternative reality, where her ‘other mother’ promises to give her everything her real mother cann’t.

Coco (2017)

Inspired by the Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead, the story follows a 12-year old boy who wants to be a musician and who is accidentally transported into the land of the Dead and seeks the help of his great grand father to return back among the living

5. Make Fall or Halloween Themed Crafts
