Morning routine – scholastic year

As a working mum, with two kids mornings can be very hectic and every minute counts.

Alarm goes off at 530am – I drag myself out of bed and get myself ready…. it is the only time of day that I can be in the bathroom without anyone knocking on the door:)

I head downstairs, place the kids lunches (which I had prepared the night before), in their bags and make sure that nothing has been left out . As much as possible the bags are prepared the night before but life happens.
Next, I fill up the dog’s water bowl, and leave some snacks for the day. Depending on the day of the week, I take out the trash. Breakfast for me is a luxury now that I have two kids – though sometimes I try and grab a fruit.

Once that is done, I head back upstairs to wake up my daughter. She is definitely not a morning person as I literally have to drag her out of bed.   She dresses up, and in the meantime I start preparing the little one. For breakfast, she would normally grab something quickly.

All this takes us to 700am, when we have to head out of the door.  Luckily my daughter’s school and my son’s childcare centre are in the same area.   Once both are settled, I head to work…..

By the time I arrive at work I am already tired and could go back to sleep.

I wish I could be more productive in the morning, but there is only so much one can do.  It is a daily struggle and sometimes I do wish life was less stressful but at this stage that is how it is.  I just look forward for the weekend to sleep in – or not!!!

Working mothers out there is your morning routine similar to mine?
