What Diaper bag I use and what’s in it?

When my son was born I wanted a sturdy and spacious diaper bag – also known as the Mary Poppins bag – which would allow me to have free hands to

juggle baby and various other things.  The bag that came with the pushchair was too small and after a few months I wanted something larger.  I purchased a messenger bag locally – it was not cheap – but to my dismay after a few months the zip tore and so was on the search of another bag.  I needed something sturdy and spacious.  My style is very casual, so was not looking for something very fancy but still I wanted it to look nice.

When we decided that we were going on vacation, I decided to opt for backpack and I found lots however narrowed it down to two namely the Qimiaobaby Bag  and the S-Zone Diaper Bag (click on the name for more information about the bag). Both bags had features I was looking for.

I ended up choosing the Qimiaobaby bag and have no regrets….it is sturdy and after one year the zip still holds well….the only thing is that insulation of some of the pockets has slightly torn off.  I guess that is to be expected after a year and a half of continuous use.

So what do I keep in it?  In the largest compartment I keep a change of clothes, nappies, snacks and toys.   The next compartment hosts insulated pockets and I keep a bottle of water and dummies in the small zip pocket.  The compartment also has a holder a fork and spoon which comes very handy when we go out to eat.

In the next smaller compartment I keep little items such as car keys, mobile and extra socks or the childcare diary.  Another small compartment at the front, is where I keep tissues.  At the side there are two additional pockets…..one for wipes with a magnetic flap which I really find convenient when on the go and need a wipe quickly to wipe off messy hands.  On the other side there is another insulated pocket where normally I keep a bottle with milk.

It does come with pushchair straps however I did not find them very good because the button kept opening.  However I still hang it to the pushchair from its other straps.  After a year and a half since I purchased the bag, I must say that I am very satisfied despite the lining of the insulated pockets inside the middle compartment has started to peel off – but I guess it is to be expected with continuous use.

When my son grows older and would not need to go out with a diaper bag, I am sure that I would continue using it for when going out or traveling and would need a backpack.  Will surely get value for the money I spent.
