Recipe Book Review

As a mum I am always on the lookout for good healthy recipes for my kids but which are tasty for us adults too.  So through the Facebook community, I came across Louise Mercieca from The Health Kick and author of the book How Food Shapes Your Child.

Louise Mercieca is a personal nutrition expert and recently launched a cook book which shows her passion for nutritional, tasty food, as well as sharing essential guidance for parents on nutrition.  This cook book combines information about food and recipes.

Children need healthy food for their development not only physical but also mental .  As parents it is our responsibility to set the example and provide healthy nutritious food on the table.  As a working mum sometimes this can be difficult, and tend to choose convenience over nutritious but this should be an exception rather than the rule. How Food Shapes Your Child offers easy and quick recipes not only for dinners but also for breakfast and lunch.  Being a mum herself, Louise has managed to transform kids favourite food….which is likely to be unhealthy….into a healthier version.  The cook book is colourful and the team is made up Captain Red Pepper pants, Inspector Banana, Dr Bertha Carrot, Corporal Courgette and Tammy Tomato…..making it more fun for your children to go through the cook book and encourage them to choose a recipe and more importantly assist in the preparation of food.

Cooking healthy food should not break the bank and the recipes provided in the cook book have ingredients which are affordable and can easily be found in supermarkets.

I tried the chicken dippers and were delicious (devoured by everyone) and really looking forward to trying out more recipes.  I highly recommend this cook book which can be purchased for Louise’s website ( Order How Food Shapes your Child) or follow her on her facebook page The Health Kick Facebook page
