Why do I use a Paper Planner?

“Always plan ahead.  It wasn’t raining when Noah built the arch” –  Richard Cushing

I still recall how I used to eagerly wait for back to school supplies, during my school days and in particular diaries.  It remember it used to  take me hours to choose the right one despite the format was the same for each diary.

As I grew older, I needed to get more organized but on the market never found the right planner so had to work around with what I found.  I don’t like hourly planners, and prefer having some flexibility.  Some might argue that, with today’s technology it is more convenient to use one of the many apps.  It is all a matter of preference….I am more of visual person and prefer writing things down.

  1. A WAY TO UNWIND

Nowadays, one can find various types of planners on the market and with them a number of accessories such as stickers and washi tape.

Getting to decorate the planner and having a different theme each week, can be relaxing.  It does help me to unwind and reset for the week ahead.

2. IT HELPS ME STAY ORGANIZED

Whether you use a paper planner or a digital planner, jotting down an appointment makes you more disciplined and helps you stay organized…..thus making sure you never forget an appointment.

3. I AM MORE LIKELY TO REMEMBER THINGS

I have always enjoyed writing and whenever I write something down, it is more likely that I remember it.  Inputting on a digital calendar does not have same feeling but as I mentioned before, it is all a matter of preference.

4. IT IS A FORM OF RECORDER / JOURNAL

When you look back at the appointments you had or notes you write in your planner it is a form of recorder/journal.  Some like to decorate their planner with photos, and flipping through past planners is a way of going down memory lane.

5. IT HELPS ME GET MORE THINGS DONE

Listing down things, whether it is a to-do list or a list of accomplishments, crossing things off does give you motivation to do more.  If there is a slot empty, one is more likely tempted to fit in an extra chore.

There are days, that I do not open the planner and it is on those days that I feel somewhat lost.

6. SETTING GOALS

I do not like to set goals that are not achievable, however it does help to set goals as a visual reminder….it’s like a mood vision.

On the international market, one can find very beautiful designs, but could not find anything similar locally.  I wanted something that showed local public holidays and ideally standard school holidays, so that it why I decided to create my own planner.  Fast forward a couple of years and I thought that my planner could help other mothers as well and decided to make it public.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the planner you can order a copy online through the website.
