Throughout the years we tend to accumulate lots of kitchen gadgets…..some reveal themselves to be waste of money whilst others are such a time saver. All these gadgets occupy important space in our kitchen cupboards…… which can be used better.
Here are a few tips to organizing your kitchen:
- At least once a year go through your kitchen cupboards and de-clutter whether its food or gadgets. If you have not used an item in a year, it is very unlikely that you will use it especially if it is expired food. It happens that we purchase ingredients for a recipe and never use again. Once you have de-cluttered yo
u can start organizing your kitchen;
- Food packaging takes lots of space so I highly recommend removing everything from the packaging. Use good quality containers, with a good seal so food keeps fresh longer;
- Keep countertops as clutter free as possible. Do not keep unnecessary items on your countertop;
- Use vertical space – store teacups by placing the cup on saucer in tidy stacks of three to four teacups;
- Once your countertops are clutter free place a cake stand with most used cooking ingredients such as olive oil, pepper and salt;
- If you like baking create a baking organizer – grab a pan and put all your baking items together so when baking you just grab the pan and you have everything you need in one spot.
- Organize by frequency of use – items that you use everyday place them within ease of reach.
As time goes by, one has to re-valuate the organizational systems used and if not working to revamp. Once the right system is found, it would make your life easier.
