Strugglingmum is 2 yrs old

It’s been 2 yrs that Strugglingmum has been around and I must say that it has been a great learning curve. Never would have I imagined that it would come this far….with its facebook page, instagram and YouTube channel.

I have learnt so much during these 2 yrs. It has not been easy especially 2019, as I committed to myself of uploading a blog post every single week. Creating content for 52 weeks is not easy (though there were some weeks that did not manage to upload anything) but managed.

  • Facebook

The Facebook now has over 3,000 likes….it suddenly started growing and am so blessed with the community there is on my page. Though the likes are important, for me the interaction with my followers is far more important.

  • Instagram

When I started Instagram, I said to myself “what am I going to post?” as I was mostly seeing photos of people on vacations, or showing “perfect” moments. But then I realized that I have to keep true to my roots and post my organization projects, life with kids and day to day things. With over 1,000 followers this community is also growing.

  • YouTube

I have been on YouTube for 1 1/2 years and it is far more difficult to get subscribers than on Facebook or Instagram. There is a lot of work involved with filming and editing but again it is slowly growing. Prior to my YouTube channel I had never filmed or edited anything, so it definitely was a major learning curve and am still learning.  You can show your support by Subscribing to my YouTube channel

But how is it being on Social Media?

As you can imagine it’s not easy with 2 kids, and working outside the home, but with some planning skills I manage.  Might not have the perfect pictures, but that is what Strugglingmum is about right?  Like with everything else there are the good days and the bad days. There are instances where you feel like you are talking to yourself but then there are days that you are inundated with support. There are posts which I might have put at the spur of the moment and get lots of interaction, then there are others where I put more effort and don’t get the desired interaction. It’s a matter of trial and error.  This definitely is the case for the YouTube channel, since there is a lot of time involved between filming and editing you hope that people watch your video and subscribe to your channel and maybe even goes viral.  But then you feel disappointed because you don’t get as many views as you might have imagined.

The Future of Strugglingmum

Obviously I would like to see the blog and relative social media accounts to grow more. Although I do plan my content, however I would not necessarily follow religiously, because I would rather post content that interest my followers and that is true to my roots. The goals for 2020 is to put out more content for my YouTube channel, as in 2019 I was not consistent and was more focused on my other social media accounts.

Despite the ups and downs, I just love creating content.  As long as I keep enjoying myself, I will keep on doing it.

Love
